Our online interior design courses and training are divided into 3 learning levels. Each learning level will consist of different learning modules of interior design courses and each module will consist of various learning units. ‘Level 1’ will cover the core concepts of interior design and its applications. After completing Level 1, students should be ready to freelance or work for an interior design studio.
Once you have completed Level 1, you have an option to progress into Level 2 and Level 3. Level 2 will be an advanced program with more advanced courses and advanced Design Studio courses. Some interior design courses in Level 2 will include project management, project costing, business practice, construction administration and more. Level 3 is the final program which consist of a final thesis project. The final thesis will allow the student to utilize their skills and knowledge they have learned from Level 1 and 2 to complete an entire interior design project from start to finish.
Our interior design courses are divided into 3 levels of training. Our special integrated experiential training focus on knowledge, practical and applications preparing you for the real world and your design consulting practice.
Each of our interior design course is carefully organized and put together. The learning materials within the courses are practical, hands-on knowledge and skills that reflects the real world interior design practice. Our interior design courses and training are intended to ensure our student s received real world project design and business skills.
Our courses are flexible and can be taken individually. However, the two Interior Design Studio courses cannot be taken until the Practical Introduction to Interior Design course is completed. We also require all students to complete the Pretest and the Interior Design Reloaded courses prior to starting other courses or modules.
There is no strict time limit for completing all the modules and courses. Normally, we require our students to complete each module in no more then 3 months.

Module 1: Pretest (Free)

We will be expanding this Pretest module regularly as we continue to develop our program. As a student of our program, you will be notified when there is an updated Pretest available.
This course is a prerequisites for the Practical Introduction to Interior Design course.
Note: There is no need to pass the Pretest #1. You can take the Pretest as often as you like. The purpose here is to expose you to some ideas of interior design and its practices. Once you have completed the Pretest, you can progress your learning to Module 2 and on. Please note some courses may still be under development and may not yet be available.
Module 2: Interior Design Reloaded (Free for limited time)
This free interior design course will allow you to think differently and kick start your beginning thinking as an Interior Designer. Don’t worry if you don’t understand some of the terms and concept, the purpose of this free course is to provide you a good starting point into how to think like an Interior Designer and understand the core concepts of interior design.
This course is a prerequisites for the Practical Introduction to Interior Design course.

Module 3: Fundamentals of Design (Free for limited time)
Before you can master design, you need to understand the fundamentals of design. This course will discuss and teach you the basic concept of design. Areas of study includes: Contrast, Balance, Emphasis, Movement, White Space, Proportion, Hierarchy, Repetition, Rhythm, Pattern, Unity and etc.
This course is a prerequisites for the Practical Introduction to Interior Design course.

Module 4: Practical Introduction to Interior Design
This practical Introduction to Interior Design course will provide you the basic introduction of the hands-on practical concepts and the elements of interior design including the principals and elements of interior design, business and practice of interior design, design process, residential and commercial design, space planning, color, finishes, lighting, contract documents, technical drawings and more. This course will be the foundation course for you to proceed to the next level.
This interior design course will also consist of some interior design projects as well for both residential and commercial interiors.

Module 5: Design Theory for Interior Designer
This course will examine and study the details of the principal and elements of design and its applications. You will learn to develop your design skills, design thinking and personal style in interior design. This course will also look at how design is related to our social cultures, human interactivity, the environments and etc.
Module 6: Interior Design Process and Applications
This is an important course for beginning interior design students to understand design process and learn the process of design thinking. You will learn to use design thinking to solve simple to complex interior design projects from small residential interiors to large complex commercial developments.
Module 7: Building Construction and Systems
This course will examine the basic concept of building construction as it relates to interior design development for both residential and commercial developments. In this course, Students will learn the basic concept of building and interior construction, structures and also the various building systems such as heating and ventilation, plumbing, fire protections and electrical systems etc.
Module 8: Visual Communications and Graphics
As an Interior Designer, you need to communicate your ideas and creations to the stake holders which are your clients, co-workers, contractors, other consultants and etc.
Module 9: Technical Drawings
This course will provide you the knowledge and skills to produce technical drawings including design drawings and construction working drawings for interior projects. The basics of manual drafting and Computer Aided Drafting will be discussed.
Module 10: Interior Design Studio 1
This Interior Design Design Studio 1 course is the very first design studio course you will take and as with all our studio courses, it will be practical and hands-on. The studio 1 design course will focus on residential interior design development projects. The course will provide you the skills to complete an interior project.
Module 11: Interior Design Studio 2
Studio 2 is a continuation of Studio 1 and will concentrate on more complex commercial projects such as restaurants, retails, offices, shopping mall interiors and etc. This studio course will provide you the skills to solve complex issues in larger more complex projects.
Module 12: Final Exam
This final examination will complete your training for Level 1. Coursesoo Academy Interior Design Level 1 Certificate will be issued.
